It is pronounced “Redding” Market, and it is wonderful! We have nothing like this in Metro Detroit (closest would be Eastern Market and it does not even compare).
Reading Terminal Market is filled with everything you could imagine eating in a giant food court style. I checked it out online prior to arriving in Philly, it is explained as “One of America’s largest and oldest public markets, housed since 1893 in a National Historic Landmark building, the Market offers an incredible selection of locally grown & exotic produce, locally sourced meats and poultry, plus the finest seafood, cheeses, baked goods, and confections.” Warning this location is only open 8am- 6pm – which is weird, because you miss prime time dinner time, and it is really late for breakfast. We are set in advance on eating Pretzels and Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches.
