Glacier Bay, Alaska – Part 1

Scroll down to content

These were our views from the deck of the Ruby Princess, it was so breathtaking, I am posting in two parts. Few words, mostly pictures

In my mind this is the entrance to Supermans secret layer….
He was floating by on an iceberg.

  1. Absolutely stunning! And I especially adore your Fortress of Solitude allusion. 😀 There’s something about icebergs, and especially things like glaciers, that absolutely fascinate me. There’s a wonder and mystery and timelessness to them that are difficult for this temporal brain to comprehend. Perhaps this is my Tolkien fan side coming out here, but I like to think of the Earth’s timeline in Ages, as did/does Jesus (Matthew 28:20–“And lo, I am with you, even unto the end of the Age.”). I am reminded of Peter talking about the great Flood in 2 Peter 3:6, and how it destroyed the world of that age, immediately after which possibly some of this ice was formed… It’s like gazing at the stars–you are looking backwards in time.
Also, I love the color of arctic ice! 🙂

    1. Mandy, we love how you write. You have a real depth and soul to it. We are both more science related, so you know how you always want what you cant have…… Plus we are both great Christians, so anyone who quotes the Bible is someone we are talking too. I read thru the Sunshine blogger and am grateful you nominated us, our very first nomination on anything, so we will filling that in over this week for sure.

      1. Fantastic! I can’t wait to read it! But seriously, no pressure. 🤗 It took me well over a month to respond with mine. 😬 I’m so happy to meet other believers; it’s like running unexpectedly into family you didn’t know you had.

  2. Wow, just look at those beautiful iceberg photos, I would love to go on a cruise as well – from Vancouver preferably – just to see such a natural wonder before it all melts away one day. Thanks for sharing, looking forward to more travel photos

      1. I don’t remember where they are. It seems like we probably took it with our phone. But those phones are long gone. Wonder if I shared it on Facebook? I might be able to go through my pictures on there.
        It was 4 years ago.

      3. We absolutely loved it! Best vacation ever. It was different than I expected. For some reason, I thought I would just be looking at a wall of ice the whole time!
But, it’s beautiful and natural and unspoiled!
I don’t know if I would go back because it was so special and now my husband has passed away and I think it would take away from our memories.
It did have a very spiritual feel.
I felt like I could really unplug and just be!
